Enabling pop-ups

Some of our systems rely on your web browser allowing Composr CMS to allow pop-up windows.

Web browsers

Often web browsers come built-in with pop-up blockers, so you'll need to grant permission. Your web browser is the software you use for viewing websites, it's what you're using now.

Microsoft Edge / Microsoft Internet Explorer

If you are a Windows user and haven't installed a new web browser, you are probably using the standard one: Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Microsoft Edge

Instructions:
  • From the "…" menu, go to Settings
  • Click "View advanced settings"
  • Make sure "Block pop-ups" is set to Off.

As this is a global setting (not a per-site setting), you'll want to put it back to "On" when you're done.

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Instructions:
  • From the gear menu, go to Internet Options
  • Click the Privacy tab
  • Under Pop-up Blocker, click Settings.
  • In the Address of website to allow field, type compo.sr.
  • Click Add.
  • Click Close.
  • Click OK.

Google Chrome

Instructions:
  • If you're on Windows or Linux:
    • Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
  • If you're on a Mac:
    • From the Chrome menu, click Preferences.
  • Select Settings.
  • Click Show advanced settings….
  • In the "Privacy" section, click the Content settings… button. The "Content settings" window appears.
  • In the "Pop-ups" section of this window, click the Manage exceptions… button.
  • On top of where it says Add a new hostname pattern, type http://compo.sr.
  • Click OK.
  • Click OK.
  • Close the Settings tab.

Mozilla Firefox

Instructions:
  • If you're on Windows or Linux:
    • From the Tools menu, click Options.
  • If you're on a Mac:
    • From the Firefox menu, click Preferences.
  • Click the Content icon located at the top of the window.
  • Click the Exceptions button located to the right of Block pop-up windows.
  • You will see the Allowed Sites dialog box.
  • In the Address of website field, type compo.sr.
  • Click Allow.
  • Click Close.
  • Click OK to close the Options dialog box.

Apple Safari

Safari has no per-website control over blocking pop-ups windows. Pop-ups are either blocked, or they are not. To allow pop-ups:
  • From the Safari menu, click Preferences.
  • Click Security.
  • Make sure Block pop-up windows is unchecked.

You should go back and check Block pop-up windows when you are done using the site for the day, to avoid inconvenience if other websites abuse pop-up windows.

You may wish to install a more featured web browser, such as Google Chrome for greater convenience.

Opera

Opera has no per-website control over blocking pop-ups windows. Pop-ups are either blocked, or they are not. To allow pop-ups:
  • If you're on Windows or Linux:
    • From the Tools menu, click Options.
  • If you're on a Mac:
    • From the Opera menu, click Preferences.
  • Make sure you are looking at the General tab.
  • Make sure Pop-ups is set to "Open all pop-ups".

You should go back and change Pop-ups to "Block unwanted pop-ups" when you are done using the site for the day, to avoid inconvenience if other websites abuse pop-up windows.

Browser extensions / addons

It is also possible you have installed your own pop-up blocker into your web browser. If this is the case then you'll need to configure that to allow pop-ups from http://compo.sr.
