Event calendar configuration question.
Is there a way to configure the calendar sytem to be publicly viewable to those not logged in ?

It's controlled by zone or page permissions, not specific to calendar.
My guess is you probably have the "Single public zone" turned off and are denying guest access to the site zone. You probably want to just disable that option and that will let guests access the whole (public) website (because now all the site modules will be accessed from the root zone which almost certainly already has guest access enabled).
For more control you could turn that option on then you could disable access to individual pages using the Permission Tree Editor.

- If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.

Now, unfortunately, the calendar backend.php output is generating the same (broken) link for all calendar entries…
