Hey there Compsr! Question about the behaviour of the breadcrumbs in Wiki. I've attached a short video to outline it. Basically, the final page is displayed as a link instead of just text and, if you happen to click on that link, it adds a keep root automagically and you are stuck in that root. For folks familiar with Compsr this is not a real big deal but to visitors this can make navigation a frustrating problem. Back in the ocPortal days, the final link in the chain was text and when you hovered the tooltip mentioned going to the link as root. Thoughts?

TIA!

From what I understand, this kind of link is only shown to admins (so they can add specific content into menu's) and you can remove the keeproot param from the url itself to lose it. So yeah, this looks like a minor bug if a Guest can see it.

Hey,

I think it is just admins, I tested now and a test or Guest user could not see it, and I can't see any evidence from the above video/text that this isn't just for admins. Specifically it's just "Open up categories as virtual roots" privilege.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about Composr whenever you see the opportunity or support me on Patreon.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanx for the info guys, appreciated! I've been puzzling this morning as to why my test site does not do this, it works fine. After reading your comments here now, *facepalm*, indeed, I'm not logged in on the test site. Switch to project site, logged in as admin, behaviour is as outlined.

Thanx again Kingbast and Chris, all cleared up and this is a great feature.

ocProducts has never failed to impress me. :D
