How to detect spammers

I have discovered a common thread among all Spammer IP's. This information certainly is not a 100% solution to catch spammers before they do their work, but it will help.

In Composr, you can reverse-lookup the Member's IP. Here's an example of the page it takes you to:

https://whatismyipaddress.com/ip/5.188.211.100

On this page, it tells you some general information about the IP.

Again, this is not a rule and it is not a 100% effective way to know if this Member will spam. It's just an observation to consider as a way to detect a spammer before they have a chance to do anything.

In all of the IP's that have been bots/scripts/or malicious Members that spam everyone on my Composr site, I have found that the "Type" is always "Corporate" or it is NOT even listed. Non-Spammers are similar to "Type: Broadband"

So, if the "Type:" is missing or if it "Corporate," then beware.

Next, there is a field called "Services:"
If the "Services:" field says something like "Recently reported forum spam source" or similar, then this is a possible spammer IP.
