Disable them completely

How do I disable the polls and forums ? I am pretty sure when I used the setup wizard I chose "Minimalistic Website" and the forums were unchecked, but after I completed the wizard, I can still see the "Social" menu with links to active forums and polls sections, which I don't want on my site.

Hi,

I can confirm a bug with that install profile. 'staff messaging' was kept checked, which has a dependency on the forum, so the forum stuck. I'll fix it.

You can remove the addons from Admin Zone > Structure > Addons.

I'm not sure about polls, as that was removed in my test. But regardless you can manually uninstall that too.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Regretfully, disabling the forums and polls causes the site to go crazy with errors, so I gave up.

If you are able to report any bugs here, we'll of course fix them.

I just ran through some testing with these addons uninstalled, but that doesn't mean there's a bug(s) somewhere.

I couldn't see any auto-reported errors, but not all sites have this enabled.

Here is the error I get when I try to, for example, edit a page if I don't install the forum.

Thank you for taking the time to report this :).

This will be fixed in the next version.
