welcome emails

Firstly congrats on V10.0.
As we have member approval enabled, is it possible to modify the member welcome e-mail system so that it sent after the staff have approved the membership.. Currently its sent immediately (0 hours) even though the member has not yet been approved, which is proving to be a little confusing for the new member signing up.

This one is a bit tricky, as we send the e-mails out by looking at members that basically joined since the last one was sent (offset by the configured sent time). We don't however store when a validation happens, so likely the result of a naive 'fix' to this would be no e-mails would go out as the join time range would have already passed.
One workaround would be for us to move the join time forward when the account is approved. However accounts may be validated/unvalidated at any point and we wouldn't want those kinds of events to change the join time.
Perhaps we could only move the join time forward to the approval time but only if their point count is zero. I'll sleep on it!

In the next patch release we'll do the change as I proposed. We'll bump the join date whenever any member is validated, as I don't think people are going to be unvalidating members in any normal workflow, as we have the ban and probation features.

Thanks for the detail. Just one question, does this mean that there will be something like a checkbox on the welcome email screen for choosing between pre/post validated so that a different message could be sent?
