Bugs?

Currently I have a site setup using e107. It's a bit old in the tooth and I decided to investigate other CMSs. I am mostly a graphics person but my abilities include HTML and CSS which include a MODERATE amount of PHP reverse engineering and hacking.

Came across ocPortal and like the features. Then of course saw the warnings about ocPortal being deprecated for Composr.

BTW you list MoJo as an installer for Composr but they do not list it. Anyway, I downloaded, installed and started playing with Composr. Already have errors messages inside 1hr of playing with the site.

A parameter, CONTENT, is referenced in the template, BLOCK_MAIN_AWARDS, but not passed

A parameter, TITLE, is referenced in the template, BLOCK_MAIN_AWARDS, but not passed

I know it's beta but my issue is I need to get this site setup sooner than later. Hate to put effort into ocPortal just to have support for it dropped.

Hi Richard,

BTW you list MoJo as an installer for Composr but they do not list it. Anyway, I downloaded, installed and started playing with Composr. Already have errors messages inside 1hr of playing with the site.

A bit premature of us perhaps, but as it's a direct legacy from ocPortal, we'll be asking all our partners to update their installers when the final Composr release comes out.

A parameter, CONTENT, is referenced in the template, BLOCK_MAIN_AWARDS, but not passed

A parameter, TITLE, is referenced in the template, BLOCK_MAIN_AWARDS, but not passed

Yes, this is a known issue, you can try pulling the update to this file out of git:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ocproducts/composr/master/themes/default/templates/BLOCK_MAIN_AWARDS.tpl
and also:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ocproducts/composr/master/sources/tempcode_compiler.php
Then clear the template and block caches from Admin Zone > Tools > Website cleanup tools.

Configuration of ecommerce generates: An option option category (ECOMMERCE) that doesn't exist is being referenced

I've just taken a look at this, and the Setup Wizard isn't doing dependency management correctly. Please either remove the 'shopping' addon, or add the 'ecommerce' addon back in, from Admin Zone > Structure > Addons.

Also I've just fixed "option option" in that message.

As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

The git code fixed the issue with the awards.

However, even after uninstalling, reinstalling both shopping and ecommerce then flushing caches, I still get the ecommerce configuration error.

Also, I know this is beta but it is extremely slow on my server. I am talking 5-10 seconds to load each page. Is this normal for the beta?

Weird. If you'd like me to take a look on the server to run some more direct tests, you can open a ticket with either FTP or control panel access:
Add a new support ticket - Composr

Regards,
Chris

Chris did an awesome job fixing a few issues I had. He obviously knows his PHP code!
