| Description | Have CRON automatically check that it can make a call to itself via its URL. Do this by storing a secure code in the database, then making a cryptographically-signed request to confirm the secure code received is what was expected. If it is not as expected, send a notification to the staff saying there may be a problem. This alerts staff if the domain has been hijacked, for example. It is also useful to detect hosted sites that are no longer live and thus can be taken down. | ||||
