| Summary | 0002716: Drop import zip/tar functionality | ||||
| Description | We support zip/tar import for: - Emoticons - Galleries - Attachments (the extract option) This is bloat nowadays. Nobody needs to zip stuff and then upload it because we support multi-select anyway. Therefore all the import zip/tar bits should be removed, and we should just leave the simpler support for multi-select hooked into those import parts of CMS. | ||||

One advantage to dropping this is that it removes a particular problem about consistency of handling incoming files. We want incoming files to get syndicated out to CDNs, and we want to do pre-processing such as fixing EXIF rotation -- but to hook in all the dearchiving code to this over-complicates things (or just doesn't happen). |
