| Summary | 0002771: Activity Feed: Commenting capability | ||||
| Description | The activity feed could potentially be improved by adding the ability to comment on feed items. For instance, if someone makes a status on the activity feed, others could have the ability to comment on said status instead of having to make a new status and use mentions. In order to accomplish this, integrate statuses and comments with the forum... and have activity feed comments (on statuses) result in the creation of a website comment topic. The above should only apply for activity feed statuses. For activity feeds regarding other items (such as adding things to galleries, posting replies to topics in forums, and so on... with the exception of activity feeds that are not about content submission [such as liking something or adding someone as a friend]), commenting via. the Activity Feed should result in making a comment on the respective content instead of an activity feed forum topic (aka. if I comment on the feed item discussing a new photo being added to the gallery, my comment via. the Activity Feed should actually be saved as a comment on that gallery photo). That way, it's more streamlined and clean. In addition to the above, items on the Activity Feed which can be commented on should have a link to comment on it, as well as a number to indicate how many comments have been made on that item (or in the case of a forum topic, the number of posts). The link should either (via. Javascript) expand a threaded list (linear for forum topics) of the comments under the feed item (pagination should probably also be included in that), with a quick reply box to make one's own comment (and clicking the comment link again would collapse/hide all that)... or it should simply take the user to another page to see the comments and to make one. | ||||
