Summary | 0003309: More reliable WYSIWYG link parsing
Description | Time-and-again we get reports of links not being parsed in WYSIWYG, although we do state that we don't reliably support that. People expect it, probably because other systems do it or other systems don't default to having a full WYSIWYG on, or because the current rules are too complex for a non-programmer to casually understand. For us to do this we have to have a smart HTML parser within Comcode that can detect if URLs are in a context where it is safe to convert them to a media tag. E.g. not inside a <script> tag, not inside a tag attribute, not inside some kind of code context, etc. This would be a lot of work, but would be worth it if we can get the funding.
