Summary | 0005456: Change voting power formula; don't use log
Description | I believe using log is not ideal for voting power. For example, with base 2.72, a member with about 1,800 points will have 7.5 voting power whereas a member with a significantly higher point total (100,000 in this example) will have a trivial increase in voting power (in this case, 11.5). This issue cannot be resolved regardless of the log base used. Perhaps use roots instead where the member can define the base (e.g. 2 = square root, 3 = cubic root, etc). They are still exponential but more uniform than log. Furthermore, a change in the root number will determine the exponential spread unlike the log base, which is ideal.
