8th weekly live chat

We'll do our 8th weekly live chat on January 20th at 7:30-8:30pm GMT (1:30pm-2:30pm CST).
Our weekly live chat is a chat about Composr Deploying, Designing and Developing, open to any one who wants to attend. It's a great way to meet other Composr users, influence development, and get some free support from the busy developers. If you don't get a decent reply on something on the forum or IRC, the live chat is the best place to ask. You don't need to be there for the full chat, but it's best to get there near the start in case we don't go the full time length for whatever reason.
If you aren't confident speaking in English you're still welcome to attend and can use the text chat feature to ask questions and make comments.
Agenda:
- What you're working on: discuss your site, and what you're working on – and solicit suggestions from the group
- Community questions: the best way to corner me and get some free step-by-step support or even some coding (if we can cover it within the allotted time of course); please try to bring a couple of questions to the chat
- Write your questions in this topic
- … or just ask them live (either by voice, or via the stream's text chat window)
- Other topics we may discuss:
- We may discuss possible format changes, e.g. a shorter community chat, followed by a collaborative programming session, or a collaborative UX review session - or just go to regular programming streams and rarer community chats that are given more heavy promotion
- We may discuss Unity 3D game integration (https://compo.sr/forum…e-engine-intergration.htm)
- New compo.sr website design
As always, the link is https://meet.jit.si/Composr. We'll also post a copy of the stream soon after it's concluded for those cannot attend.
See you there

If you can't attend but would like to in the future, please reply with the dates/times you could make, so we can try and schedule something that works for you in the future.

Become a fan of Composr on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Mastodon. Follow me on Minds (where I am most active). Support me on Patreon
- If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
- If so, please let others know about Composr whenever you see the opportunity or support me on Patreon.
- If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
- If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

The design is less "box-like". It's nice. Do youplan on implementing this (kind of design) in v11?
Ignore my lack of knowledge if this had previously been stated, somewhere.

Glad you like it

To some degree, yes - we are planning for flat design in v11.
However, we're not at a point where it's been given much thought. Currently we've planned up to adding lots of theme options to disable gradients etc, and add the new SVG icons. I suspect after this is implemented, we'll then look at what core style changes we want to make.

Compo.sr looks nice but the version we use now, can be better. A little bit more 2018 if you know what i mean

Keep up this wonderful job devs!

I just updated the topic to reflect that. Sorry for being so slow on that, flu has hit my hard and I've been struggling to stay on top of things.

compo.sr.pdf
It is not entirely consistent with the design work so far. Once done I will probably go through and see if the design needs further work, or if we'll do things a bit differently from this presentation.

I'm still working on editing the video. I didn't make it a priority this week because it will still be a while before the next chat. It should be up within the next week or so.
