| Summary | 0005445: Option to defer post notifications until edit/delete time runs out | ||||
| Description | Add a forum option that allows deferring notifications for new posts until the configured edit/delete time for that post has run out (or send immediately anyway if no limit or if editing / deleting is not allowed). A new minutely scheduler hook will check for these posts and generate notifications at the appropriate times. The purpose of this option is to allow for the most up-to-date version of a post to be included in the notification should it later get edited (or for no notification to be sent at all if it is later deleted). | ||||

This shouldn't be under "Composr alpha testing". It's very hard to see the wood through the trees right now, with so many issues under this project. It doesn't relate specifically to alpha builds, isn't special to v11, and isn't on the roadmap for v11 (and even if it were, it still shouldn't be in here as it's not a "testing" thing). |

To me it makes more sense to implement this alongside 0005426, i.e. don't poll for when to send notifications, explicitly schedule it. Note this would need to check to see if the post still exists at point of scheduled time being hit. |
