Greetings,

Is it possible, or does it exist, a way to have Tags autocomplete? By tags, I mean the SEO metadata type tags that you can optionally put on your pages.

Hi,

I think you mean autogenerate.

Isn't this the case already? If you go back to edit some content (after adding with no tags) you should see they've autogenerated.

Become a fan of Composr on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Mastodon. Follow me on Minds (where I am most active). Support me on Patreon

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about Composr whenever you see the opportunity or support me on Patreon.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Um, no I meant autocomplete. Where you create a tag on one page and when you go to start typing that same tag for another page it shows the tag you typed before as a suggestion if the tag you are typing looks similar. It would save me some headache in tagging my pages making sure I type all the tags correctly.

I didn't know about the auto generate "feature". So I made a page, saved it, and went to edit it again, no tags were auto-generated. I aved it and checked again, nope. No tags. So yeah, not sure but auto generate doesn't seem to function for me.

Hi,

Autogeneration will be fixed in the next release, and I've written some automated tests to that to make sure it doesn't break again without someone noticing.

I have added an issue to the tracker for tag autocompletion. It's a nice idea, we can't do it currently though.
