creating a screencast

Hi gang, I notice that FB now makes you submit your app for review before it will allow composr to cyndicate news and events. Part of the review submition requires a screencast of step by step instructions on how it will be used. Being blind, screencasts are not something I use very often. Has anyone here created a screencast on creating a news article and calendar event for cyndication that they would share with the community to make the review process easier?

I highly recommend using https://dlvr.it/ instead. You can tie it into your RSS feeds. This is what we're using on our Facebook page.

  • If so, please let others know about Composr whenever you see the opportunity or support me on Patreon.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks LG, you are awesome for all the help you've given me. Let me take a look at the app Chris has suggested first before you go to all the trouble.

Hey Chris, I took a look at dlvr.it and it looks pretty cool for sure. I see it will post out our news articles, but I'm wondering about our calendar entries. Are the calendar entries able to be sent out as a rss feed? I don't remember that being the case from ocP, but again I've been away from the project over a year. We depend on our calendar pretty heavily since we conduct and promote alot of classes, parties and events at our shop.

Yes, you can have calendar in the RSS.

If you want it to syndicate forthcoming events, you need to find the calendar RSS URL then add method=stream_in to it. That will make it syndicate the events through RSS as soon as they are added, rather than waiting until they happen.
