Critical Upgrade Error

Trying to upgrade from version 9 to version 10.
Received help for the "Specified key was too long error" at: https://compo.sr/forum/topics/new_post/11.htm?parent_id=2681
- did as requested and converted Engine to InnoDB
- finished the database upgrade
- imported the cms.sql file provided
Now getting a Critical Error at https://domain.com/adminzone/ which says: The requested usergroup does not exist. It has probably been deleted.
Suggestions on how to proceed much appreciated.
