Hi Folks,

Since the 10.0.44 update, if a user requests the base URL The Hamfiles Amateur Radio & PMR File Repository - HamFiles the page presented is a blank white page.

The inspector reports: Error: An unexpected error occurred, and that's it!

If you access any other other page first then navigate to the home page, all is fine (because it uses the URL below).

If you add: /index.php?page=start to the URL, again, all is fine.

I tried the 10.0.45 update which didn't resolve the problem.

Does anyone have a quick fix for this, I'm loosing all of my traffic?

TQ

Try adding DirectoryIndex index.php to the top of your .htaccess file?

Hi Adam,

Thanks for the rapid response.

Unfortunately, when converted for IIRF (legacy setup on my Windows server) I am presented with another error:

The resource from “://hamfiles.co.uk/themes/Golden/templates_cached/EN/sound.js?1706523478” was blocked due to MIME type (“text/html”) mismatch (X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff).
…. and
Uncaught ReferenceError: menu_active_selection is not defined
    <anonymous> ://hamfiles.co.uk/:1611
….. plus about 20+ more errors.

(nb. I had to trim the https off of the message to stop composr from converting it)

None of these errors are there if I present the URL as per my first message.

I tried:
RewriteRule ^.* /index.php?page=start [NC,L,QSA]
RewriteRule ^.* /index.php [NC,L,QSA]

In case you are wondering, I disabled IIRF completely to make sure that one or more of the 100's of entries are not the cause and can confirm that it's not IIRF that's creating the problem.

Any further thoughts would be very much appreciated.

TQ

Ha, problem solved!

I had the default document list in the order - index.html followed by index.php in iis. Reversing it resolved the issue.

What a plonker!

Thank you for jumping in so quickly.

Glad to see you were able to resolve the issue, haha. No worries. I was spending 30 minutes yesterday in v11 racking my brain as to why I was getting an error message for something that was successful. Turns out I just needed a return statement to exit out of the function before reaching the error condition. I forgot to add that, so it would reach the error condition even if successful. Lol. One of those "Error: Your Action was Successful" moments.

I was not wrong when I said it started with update 44 which I did a couple of days previously but the document error had been there since I installed it on that server years ago so it fooled me completely.

Good to know I'm not the only one blinded by the light :)

Looking forward to seeing V11 in Beta.

Hope you have a productive day.

TQ
