Problem with Images of the Day

I noticed that under 'Content -> Images of the day' I am seeing the 'Image of the day archive' but that's it.  I don't have any images available yet, so I wanted to add an image.  However, there is no option to add an image.

However, if I select 'Content Management' from my profile widget and then choose 'Images of the day' I have two options available: Add image of the day, and Edit/Choose image of the day.

Seems a bit inconsistent the way it is currently configured (which is basically the default).

I'm wondering why there is no ability to manage IOTDs from the Content menu?  Any ideas how I can fix this behavior?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best,
Christopher

Hi,

First, this is a non-bundled addon, so won't be maintained to the same standards as the rest of Composr.

Generally though IOTD users will place the main_iotd block on their home page, which does have a link to add a new one. This is generally where visitors will primarily experience the IOTD.

Become a fan of Composr on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Mastodon. Follow me on Minds (where I am most active). Support me on Patreon

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about Composr whenever you see the opportunity or support me on Patreon.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Sounds good.  I have no problem with that approach.  Right now I'm just wanting to manage content…I haven't gotten around to adding the main_iotd block yet….so I wasn't aware of that functionality…but that will work just fine.

Thanks Chris!
