Blank database and blank server space on NameCheap servers. 100% clean install of Version 10 RC12.

Well, lol, I have nothing to report. The install went perfectly. No issues at all. I only got through a few sips of my beer, and the install was complete. No errors, no issues. It was quick and simple.

The only thing I could comment on it the banner that is installed by default. I've figure out how to delete the banner and that big header masthead by editing some source code, but it would be cool if I could opt out of adding a banner and the big masthead. Deleting the ad banner and the masthead is pretty easy to do by editing GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP.tpl and GLOBAL_HTML_WRAP_mobile.tpl, but it would be cool to have an option to avoid the ad banner and the masthead. Or when editing the masthead, allow it to be deleted and not revert to a default masthead. So that the menu bar is at the tip-top of the screen. This is probably a theme issue, and not a site issue, though. A "fixed" menu bar option would be cool, too, but again this is probably a theme issue and not a site issue. Anyway, the install went perfectly. Zero errors or issues. Seamless and smooth.

Hey,

And for this release I finally tracked down that login issue you had with some help from {{KingBast}}. It happened if you accidentally logged in incorrectly the first time, then correctly a second time. That had been driving me a bit nuts trying to work out how to reproduce it.

Actually for the banner, you'd just need to uninstall the banners addon and it would remove the masthead.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I never logged in incorrectly though, so not sure that was the primary cause. However, if the end solution works that's all that matters.
