version: 10.1 beta7

Admin Page Failed
Just a heads up on the new Beta, I attempted to do the upgrade and now the Admin side of the site doesn't work. Main page of the site and forums etc appears to still work fine, so I'm not too worried.Unfortunately a query has failed [SELECT COUNT(*) FROM cms_ecom_invoices WHERE (i_member_id=2) LIMIT 1] [Table 'cmscartel.cms_ecom_invoices' doesn't exist] (version: 10.1 beta7, PHP version: 5.4.45, URL: /adminzone/index.php?page=start)

- If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
- If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Upgrades are only up the branch tree. So a newer patch release for v10.0.x would not be applyable to v10.1.x. The database structure you have will have changed and there's no code to downgrade that.
I really don't have a good answer for you, other than recommending to restore from backup if at all possible. I'll also make sure v10.1 will upgrade cleanly to v11 when that comes out, but that is going to be a while (there's no release date).
I do feel very bad the wrong upgrade was put out by the automated system. What happened is there was a bug where it wasn't recommending to upgrade along the beta lines (e.g. v10.1 beta 2 to v10.1 beta 3).
After fixing that bug, I didn't realise it was then recommending people jump onto the beta lines, and that was an issue for a few days.

Well I'm sorry that happened. On a short-to-medium-term timescale, there's not a lot I can do to avoid the occasional blunder, as development resources are limited.
I strongly advise people keep good backups. I know that's really annoying, especially as web backup systems tend to be complex and clunky.
I'll see if we can release a new v10.1 beta, to roll in all the v10.0.x patches, and some of the fixes that were done to v11 for the eCommerce system (i.e. things that also will apply to v10.1).
For v11 the intention is to add automated upgrades for the majority of users, and this would have a number of safeguards built in.
I hope you can come back to us at some point.
