Allow a usergroup to mass-upload images into a gallery

I just recently started using composr, so I am still trying to learn all the features etc.
First of al thank you for creating this system, I think it's great so far! Very hooked to learn more about programming, html, css and java. My background is in business and fashion design, so it takes me extra long to understand everything

Right now I'm trying to create a website where I have two kind of usergroups that have different rights and therefore see different parts of the site.
Yesterday I was learning about the gallery function and found out that if you tick all the right boxes, members of a usergroup can upload images into a private gallery (which is secret and only the respective member sees). So far so good, now it would only be great if members could upload images in bulk instead of one and one.
Just like the admin you can go to content > galleries > mass-add to gallery.
Is that possible?
Thanks for your help, I'm looking forward to you answer. xxxA

Should be possible, just assign the 'Mass import data into categories' privilege.
Become a fan of Composr on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Mastodon. Follow me on Minds (where I am most active). Support me on Patreon
- If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
- If so, please let others know about Composr whenever you see the opportunity or support me on Patreon.
- If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
- If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I've tried changing 'Mass import data into categories' privilege in the security menu, but apparently a setting in the gallery module is over-riding this.
Any idea what other setting might be over-riding this?
Thanks!

Your question implies that it's not working, but you didn't say where it's not working.
For example, are you saying that the Mass-add to gallery icon is missing in CMS > Galleries?
Or do you get an error message, if so what message?
Or are you just not sure where to look for the feature, so not sure how to use it.
It should just be a case of assigning the privilege, however the privilege can be overridden in the Permission Tree Editor on the galleries module, so maybe it's overridden as negative.

I had to go into the privilege tree editor and give the user group both permission to 'Mass import data into categories' and permission to 'edit categories'.
Without both permissions it didn't work.
That said, I'm also still not seeing any icons or prompts for mass-adding in the galleries module! To test it I had to go directly via the url (i.e. /cms/index.php?page=cms-galleries&type=import&keep_gallery_root=root)

Maybe you didn't save correctly when you initially tried to set it, or something like that.
There are no prompts in the galleries module, only the cms_galleries module (an icon alongside the other icons for that module, i.e. in the CMS zone under galleries).
