What is the spellcheck function supposed to accomplish

September 22, 2016
While using the Edit Comcode page editor I checked the spell check box.

I then purposely misspelled a word in the text area of the page

When I then did the preview I get this:

Have I misinterpreted the functionality of the spellcheck?

Hi,

I can confirm a bug when I test, which is now fixed for the next release.
It might have only been an issue on PHP7, I'm not sure.

Chris:
I just check this issue and it appears to still be malfunctioning.  I'm using RC18 which I believe was releases on Sept 27th.  Your note indicated that the spellcheck issue was fixed on Sept 23rd.

Did the fix not make it to RC18 or can I be of more help in locating the problem.

Thanks
Bob

PS keep up the good work!

Hi,

Do you have pspell or hunspell or both? (You can find out in your phpinfo)

I haven't been able to reproduce this I'm afraid, either with pspell or enchant PHP extensions. If you want to put through a free bug report ticket with hosting access, I'm happy to take a look direct on your server.

Chris:
Thanks for the reply.
My site is hosted on InMotionHosting.  I logged into the site AdminZone and generated/saved a phpinfo htm file which I then copied into Notepad++ and searched for the two references you gave.  Rather than post the full phpinfo, I just copied the relevant search results. If you want the entire file, just let me know.

Search "enchant" (0 hits in 0 files)
Search "pspell" (3 hits in 1 file)
  new 1 (3 hits)
    Line 1018: '--with-pic' '--with-png-dir=/usr' '--with-pspell' '--with-tidy'
    Line 1792:     pspell
    Line 1794: PSpell Support     enabled

I would be more than happy to give you access to the site, which is:
http://www.foxglovesoftwre.com
Just how to I give you the admin password--privately?
