Just installed V11

Just wanted to give some insights...

During install, please note the process DOES NOT like the latest PHP version it shows a ton of deprecated errors.

I had to revert back to PHP 7.4 to solve the issues.

Another thing I noticed, installation doesn't like when you do not install store files, lots of complaints of missing scripts.

A suggestion to think about that would be nice in the add-ons section listing...

Add a choice to sort by installed and not installed components so you don't have to read down the list for each item? Just my thought.

Love the new layout, so much more advanced and clean.

Hello,

Composr currently does not support PHP 8.2 for that reason. PHP 9 is going to be… interesting… when it comes out. Lots of breaking changes are planned which will affect Composr CMS.

v11 works fine with 8.0 though (well, fine as-in PHP deprecation warning hell isn't present, lol). I'm not sure about 8.1.

I may consider ways to handle the warnings in 8.2.

edited: Ah, yeah, this is a known bug. I have it on my to-do to fix.

"Add a choice to sort by installed and not installed components so you don't have to read down the list for each item? Just my thought."

It's already sorted like that; not installed addons will drop to the bottom of each section and will have an orange "not installed" opposed to a green "installed". They're kept in their relevant categories so you know their category of functionality. Perhaps I should make uninstalled addons more obvious? I could make those rows in the list red.

I agree. v11 incorporates a bit of Bootstrap CSS into it to give it a somewhat more modern look. A past developer was responsible for re-designing the themes and the JavaScript. And I added some luminance math into the theme wizard colors so that (in theory) text remains readable regardless of the seed color you use (or if you use dark mode). Colors have always been a problem in Composr's theme wizard, but I think I nearly perfected it.

Late addition:

One thing I noticed in V11 that should be noted:

When you have a new site installed and have closed it so you can work on it, shouldn't the carousel page be shut off and display only the site closed message? Perhaps hide the hero sections till it has been opened?

On another note:

Successfully installed it on Ubuntu (Latest version + Apache2) Works fine, no issues (I remembered to switch the PHP versions this time :)  )

I disagree on the carousel because it could easily be utilized as a "coming soon" promotional tool. However, I think a good compromise would be to add a theme option allowing admins to specify whether it is hidden when the site is closed or not. If you like that suggestion, please add it to the tracker if you could as a feature request. That way, it's under your name and thus you get credit for bringing this up.
