I need to be able to use custom fields only in my download addon
Hi, I have both Ocportal and Composr. I have a serious problem. I am trying to set up a website that will allow users or registered members to upload mp3 files for downloads but the problem is that the Download addon is not specifically designed for music downloads, so the default fields do not really apply when it comes to music so I want to be able to disable default fields and add custom fields but I simply do not see that option in ocportal and composr. I badly need to be able to deactivate or activate the default fields or edit them so that they can be used in the site. For Example, the field Name needs to read Song Tittle instead. Please Help me Solve This.
If you need exact control of fields, it would have to either be a catalogue or custom developed. If you want more functionality than catalogues can do, e.g. something you liked in the download system specifically, that would definitely be custom-developing.
If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
If so, please let others know about Composr whenever you see the opportunity or support me on Patreon.
If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
