After a 3 year (and 8 days  ) absence from the forum, and more than 6 years of not using ocPortal/Composr, I'm back!

This past weekend I've install Composr for the first time, and must say that it is looking very good! I've been spending the last 5 days finding my way around and learning how to do things again.

I've tried installing a few times over the years but I never was able to get through the install without errors and with other issues going on in my life, I just never had the desire to chase down the reason. Other than my own foolishness, this install went off without a hitch.

I'm currently developing a small site ultilizing Composr's catalog and wiki system. Once I feel more comfortable with the ins and outs of Composr, I'll start developing a site around the ecommerce and shopping modules.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what I'm able to do with Composr!

Fantastic to see you back here sholzy!

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about Composr whenever you see the opportunity or support me on Patreon.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks, Chris!

Although I haven't been on the forum, I have been getting notifications the whole time, and I've read all 4300+ of 'em!

Hi Sholzy, I know the feeling, it just feels nostalgic using the same cms that you are not touching for years. Your post has been a year, do you have any update on how things are going? I bet you already know everything about the new versions.

I've been going through checking/purging all my old accounts when I came across my old Ocportal account (now compo.sr) account. Hard to believe its been over 6 years since I last logged in.

So rather then just test my log in and run, I though I'd stop by and say hi sholzy & Chris, and any other old timers that may still be here.

Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S / Galaxy S II ? If so, why not check out my ScreenFree FM Radio .

HI understand the feeling; it just feels nostalgic to use the same cms that you haven't touched in years. Is there any news on how things are going since your last post a year ago? I'm sure you're already up to speed on the new versions.

I haven't posted an update publicly as it would be much of the same "personal problems delaying development" and "it's being worked on with no specific release date" and I don't want to sound like a broken record. But I can say a great deal of progress has happened in recent months, including the fundamentals for a new vision for the project going forward, and we're moving close to a beta 1 for that new version.

The recent commit history says more than I could:
Commits · v11 · Composr ecosystem / Composr · GitLab
