If you haven't already downloaded the latest RC and tested it out, please consider doing so. I know that testing takes time, but it would be time well spent on making the stable release of v10 worth the wait. Each of us will be using Composr in slightly different ways and you might discover something others have missed. This is the perfect time for us to collectively find any remaining issues and get them posted up on the tracker to be fixed for the benefit of everyone because once v10 is out of the door we can look forward to v10.1 rather than a lot of development time spent fixing bugs we can all help to squash right now. Get involved and post any issues you find on the tracker. You know it makes sense (unlike the title if you are anywhere but the UK, because it is the 4th May here)

Installing RC8, fresh installation…

Base URL says: http://witches.press%5C (the %5C issue has already been addressed, I believe, and will be fixed in the next minor versions tests)

After Step 10, the installation process could offer to rename or delete the install.php for you, instead of telling you "You must delete the install.php file immediately…," because people not familiar with installing website software (like me) might not know what this means. Just a suggestion.

After filling in the website name and global attributes, I get this error report, which I ignore by clicking over to Admin Setup and Configuration. I've wiped the site and database clean and attempted to install it again, but I get the same error. In the past, I've been able to ignore errors like this and just go to Admin->Configuration to build the site, but this error continues to stop me from progressing. Something I'm doing wrong, or? I would add an image of the various screens, but I'm not sure how that works on here, since it asks for a URL…but I want to upload a file, not a URL. Attachments like images should ask only for a file to upload. "url" and file paths just confuse people.

Thanks. I've added a tracker issue for install.php auto-deletion, and I have fixed the issue here - which only affects servers with suhosin installed.

Thanks, Chris. I did some research on "suhosin." It turns out that you are correct–it's some sort of php security feature that is installed on a limited number of web providers. I use Namecheap servers/providers, and they use "suhosin." If anyone runs across any issues  that prevent Composr to be fully installed, and if the errors mention "Suhosin," you might be able to solve this error by editing (or creating) a php.ini file, AND, edit your "extension selector" values on your provider. I found these extension selector tools in my CPanel under something called "PHP extension-selector." I'll attach a picture of what it looks like. To solve the suhosin issue, just unclick "suhosin" and save. Also, I created a file called php.ini and filled it with the following information:

suhosin.post.max_vars=5003
suhosin.request.max_vars=5003

Then I saved it to my root directory and also to my http directory as php.ini
