Hmm, are you using an adblocker?

Become a fan of Composr on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Mastodon. Follow me on Minds (where I am most active). Support me on Patreon

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about Composr whenever you see the opportunity or support me on Patreon.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Hey,

If you can give me a link I'll try on my machine too.

I'm ill today so can't look quite yet. I can't off the top of my head remember if it affects the latest or next RC, but we did make a CAPTCHA change recently to strengthen it by putting a JS-requirement onto it for it to load (if the new config option for that is enabled). So also check the JS console for errors, as one error could knock off subsequent JS execution.

Also to be sure it's not a popup blocker I'd test in an incognito window, as that disables all extensions (by default).

i am sorry to hear that…
Get well soon Chris… :)

fyi: i tested my site (join Form ) with G Chrome Browser in 4 different computer (with no change browser setting). then i found new fact that 2 browser can show security image and others still can not read security image.

but, on the other hand, when i used   incognito windows ,  i didn't find any problem with security image in all of G Chrome Browser, everything is oke.

this is my site url

Ok, I checked and you do have the new "JavaScript CAPTCHA" option. You can disable it in Admin Zone > Setup > Configuration > Security options > CAPTCHA.

However, I would like to narrow down the cause too. Anything in the browser console for you?

Could you try disabling all Chrome extensions then re-enabling them one by one, to track which is causing the issue?

I do suspect a ad blocker as it will think the CAPTCHA is an advert. We'll disable the option by default for the next RC (although this will not affect existing installs).

sorry Chris,  my laptop was broken a few days ago. therefore, now I can only respond to this. ;)

1. I've tried disabling one by one extension in the browser until I reset the browser settings. However, the security image is still not too visible.

2. then after I tried to disable JavaScript CAPTCHA, I could access a security image with no problems although I have activated all extensions on my browser.

3. Strangely, after I try to activate it again CAPTCHA JavaScript and browser mode is now changed back to the status of active extension of all, I was still able to access the security image.

4. i could not find anything in browser console:

Ok, thanks for the info. The option will now remain defaulted to off, and if someone can associate the issue with some kind of JS blocker or extension we're take another look.
